I consider myself lucky to have lived this year, not only that I acquired new skills, but also the events and places that I have experienced, despite the usual feeling of skepticism about the new year, that it would be another ordinary year where you can live through stiff and repetitive routine, somehow there were moments of success, joy and, happiness.

Let me start with bad news first, for me this year’s struggle was career growth, every year since I’ve started working with my second family at BeInMedia, I was learning something new, adding some value to the world and, coming up with ideas. It’s been five years working there, so the stories I’ve lived with them are as endless as they’re thrilling but, nowadays I’ve been invaded by the thought that I’ve reached my maximum potential of experience, I feel like my glass is too full to get filled with any more knowledge.

Which is honestly the most false thought that have ever crossed my mind, this frustrating idea of considering my mind as a glass that gets filled to the brim, made me take a negative turn in terms of behavior, which drove me pessimist about any addition or change to my life besides, it introduced more fear of the future that burnt my mind out, the end result is huge stress that was built out of thin air.

That and the schedule that began to become tighter as our business grows, those two points are the main barriers to the growth I’m looking for however, I lived on nonetheless and, in the end of this year we have managed to move out our office to a much better place, a place that provides us the best environment to be productive and, helps me conquering my concerns and overcoming those barriers.

The good news of this year is a lot to talk about, both on work and life lanes of this journey, moving our office was one of them, learning how to drive, getting a driving license — which is considered one of the most difficult things to achieve in where I live — then, sadly making my first car accident which led me to months of fear, totaling the car and, losing confidence on the road.

Soon after me and my colleagues at work have attended the 39th GITEX technology week event, where we realized that the whole world is going towards Artificial Intelligence and of course 5G networks, back at the office we have experienced the speed of 5G, in my opinion it didn’t reach the quality that the providers are marketing.

Then after coming back from the event by a while, thankfully I got another car to drive, I began to drive for short distances at first then, after we’ve moved our office further from home, now I’m driving for a longer distance gaining my lost confidence back bit by bit in the process.

Lastly, one of the biggest good news for me is expecting a newborn by the mid of next year, despite my feeling towards this year, that it was a slow and sluggish one, I witnessed the growth of both of my families, the family at home, and the family at work and, I want to thank them both so much that they were — and are — the reason to keep me moving forward, finally I want them to realize how priceless they are to me.

So let’s close this year’s chapter with all its good and bad, and for the next year I say “Let there be light”.
